TREMENDOUS VICTORY FOR THE UHURU 3 AND UHURU MOVEMENT! Today, 12/16/24, was the sentencing date for the bogus, illegal, fraudulent case the government brought against the Uhuru 3. In September they were found NOT GUILTY of the more serious charge of working for the Russians, but incredibly were wrongfully found guilty of conspiring to work for the Russians. They were facing up to 5 years in prison, and up to $250,000 in fines.
After doing tremendous organizational work and after receiving over 1500 letters of support, the judge refused to give them any time or levy any fines against them. They were sentenced to 3 years probation, and although the judge can not enforce travel restrictions, he said he would recommend to probation that the only travel restriction be going to Russia or having anything to do with the Russian government or Russian NGOs. The judge also said that if they must, they should contact probation first.
But even in spite of NO JAIL TIME, THE UHURU 3 WILL BE APPEALING THE CASE!
The case should have NEVER BEEN BROUGHT FORWARD and they shouldn’t be on probation FOR ANYTHING!
