South Jersey for Palestine has been, and will continue a weekly vigil/protest against the mass atrocities in Palestine, calling for a ceasefire and an end to US funding of genocide of the Palestinian people by Israel. The group meets every Saturday from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the busy corners of Haddon Avenue and Cuthbert Blvd. on the border of Collingswood and Haddon Twp./Westmont, NJ. We are also excited to announce that starting in October we have added a second weekly vigil in Mt. Laurel on Tuesdays from 3-5. Since this vigil takes place in the late afternoon, its time moves around to avoid being out after dark. People from all over NJ and the Philadelphia area have been attending despite sometimes bitter cold, harsh winds, and icy rainfall.
The group has also held delegations to the offices of Senator Cory Booker and Congressman Donald Norcross, and has plan for actions at other representatives offices, as well as informational actions in the Camden/Burlington/Gloucester County areas, in the near future. Dates, times, and kinds of actions will be announced soon.
The actions are being planned by members of Not In Our Name, Jewish Voice for Peace, If Not Now, CODEPINK, South Jersey Progressive Democrats, local residents, and various individuals and families from all over New Jersey and Philadelphia.
