US GI Reportedly Perishes After Self Immolation Outside Israeli Embassy in DC
A US Air Force soldier is in critical condition after he set himself on fire outside the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC, Sunday. He live streamed the self-immolation action on Twitch where he captured himself standing outside the gates of the Israeli embassy and identifying himself as a member of the US Air Force.
“I will no longer be complicit in genocide [in Gaza]. I am about to engage in an extreme act of protest,” the man apparently said before setting himself alight and repeatedly shouting “Free Palestine!”
The soldier has perished. .
It is horrible that this occurred and sad indeed but it is also a sign of resistance within the US military and a sign of morale problems and a conscience of US GIs – they know they are now openly tools in a genocide operation and this could be the beginning of the turn around for US GIs – when they recognize that their lot is best thrown down with the rest of the planet that is oppressed by the US armed forces.
