Trump DHS Escalates Crackdown on ICE Dissent, Subpoenas Data from META
Below is an Insta message from Stop ICE about threatened repression in response to legally protected journalistic reporting of ICE illegal terror attacks on our communities.
FightBackBetter editorially obviously condemns this ADDITIONAL totally illegal, unconstitutional and fascist action by the Trump admiinstration. He is in overdrive trying to tell the whole world that he does not care one iota about the constitution and that he is itching to launch lethal attacks within the US upon us for protesting his policies. He is creating numerous trip wires for repressive attacks. There is no doubt that is where this is heading.
My suggestion is that Trump is not bluffing and we will soon see normalized in the US operations like the ones that the US aids Israel to carry out in Gaza – the genocide that so many here have turned their backs upon is very much headed for our own communities. We need to be stepping up to all of the fascist nonsense trying to restrict our rights. This means condemning each and every attempt to increase the fascist pressure through defiant words opposing the policies. (CHECK). Continuing to take the kinds of positions we have been taking and doing it in the faces of the MAGA flank. (CHECK) Supporting the defense of those coming under attack and demanding that the system and its minions keep its fascist HANDS OFF those who engage in their beloved protected rights to speech. We’ve confirmed the Department of Homeland Security has sent a subpoena to Meta for data on the @stopicenet instagram account. Insta posting.
We are working with attorneys and others potentially affected to gather more details for next steps.
The subpoena is a retaliatory attempt by DHS and immigration enforcement designed to target those exercising their First Amendment right.
We will not be intimidated by anyone attempting to “punish” or target us for exercising our First Amendment.
