The following is the commentary of Lisa Davis who was victimized by a lawfare prosecution on false charges over her being the only Black Woman at a pro-Palestine protest that was disrupted by an “unhinged” provocateur. This police chief is not the only one of the trio responsible moving on – the Mayor Sheena Collum who possibly politically influenced this false prosecution is now Lt. Governor running mate of gubernatorial candidate Steven Fulop. Meawhile Lisa Davis still faces the false charges they brought upon her. What a note to end his career on, the phony lawfare prosecution of Lisa Davis – sad little police chief loser.

HE SHOULD BE FIRED FROM THE SOUTH ORANGE POLICE DEPARTMENT, BECAUSE THE RACIAL PROFILING THAT WAS HAPPENING IN SOUTH ORANGE, NJ, WAS ALLOWED TO CONTINUE UNDER HIS TENURE, WHICH IS DISGRACEFUL!
This is a long but important read, as he is culpable in siding with racist police and unfairly dragging me through this racist injustice system.
According to the NJ FORCE REPORT (https://force.nj.com/database/pd-dept/south-orange-essex), which was published in 2018, a Black person in South Orange, NJ is 844% more likely to be subjected police brutality than a white person is. And a more recent article in 2022 claimed that South Orange was investigating reports of racial profiling
I HAVE BEEN CONSISTENTLY DRAGGED INTO SOUTH ORANGE COURT, after being FALSELY, MALICOUSLY, AND DELIBERATELY charged with organizing a special event without a permit, and with making loud and excessive noise on a plastic, toy looking “bull horn.” BUT NONE OF THIS IS TRUE! I WAS SIMPLY ATTENDING AN EVENT THAT I DIDN’T ORGANIZE AND I WASN’T MAKING ANY LOUD OR CONTINUOUS NOISE ON A BULL HORN!
On March 31, 2024, I was attending a weekly Pro Palestine Cease Fire Vigil, in South Orange, a majority white community which is literally within walking distance of Newark and Orange, NJ, two predominantly Black towns, when a zionist comes rushing at the crowd of about 25 people, screaming, with his arms flailing. It was at the end of the vigil and I was clearly trying to diffuse the situation by telling the crowd to not respond to him and telling him that he was getting too close and that he needed to back off. He insists upon yelling and I respond to him that he doesn’t own this world, which evidently is a crime for a Black person to say that to a white person in NJ. There is video of this exchange. But the white officer that showed up on the scene, Ryan Naturale, LIED and brought false charges against me! I was the only Black person in attendance on that day and I AM THE ONLY ONE THE TOWN AND STATE IS COMING AFTER. In fact, that vigil had been happening every week since November 2023, but I am the only one they’re charging with anything.
The video is so clear. CHARGES AGAINST ME SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN FILED, AND THIS BOGUS CASE SHOULD HAVE BEEN IMMEDIATELY KICKED OUT!
Lastly, the one prosecuting this farce, Gracia Robert Montilus is another sell out, siding with white racist, colonialist oppression and Travis Cooper, is a Black “officer” who got on the stand in February and sided with the racist white officer who wrote the false police report! These Black people who have sold out has turned South Orange into a minstrel show of the worst kind. And more evidence of this is all of the Black people who are brought into their municipal court, which usually deals with traffic violations, as defendants! A majority white town, yet the people being dragged into those court are majority Black and the township is making windfall profits.
The next court date for me is 4/18/25 at 2:00 pm, South Orange/Maplewood Court, RM 1, 1618 Springfield Avenue, Maplewood, NJ . I can more than prove my case, which reveals the utter viciousness and ineptness of the officers, the current police chief, the municipality, and the State, as it is the State of NJ that is bringing this trash against me.
