NJ’s Amazing Pro-Palestine Calendar Keeper – A Frequent Gift to Our Efforts!

The following is the product of a NJ resident who has been keeping a pro-Palestine calendar literally for years – possibly over a decade.  They are preferring anonymity – but approved circulation of the important information.  There is some analysis that comes with the announcements which is welcome on FightBackBetter.com . ed.
Mar7aba everyone,
There are several important actions happening this weekend, and there is never enough space in an email’s subject line to highlight them all, but I hope that you will take the time to check them out below —
Today on Friday, 8 March 2024 @ 4 PM, there is an Emergency Protest against Montclair State University President Jonathan Koppell’s clearly illegal abrogation of our 1st Amendment right to Free Speech.
What Happened: with less than 24 hours to go before the NJ Students for Justice in Palestine “Palestine Lives” fundraiser at Montclair State University, approval for the event was withdrawn last night, and MSU president issued a statement explaining the decision. An excerpt:
“This organization [New Jersey Students for Justice in Palestine] also publishes a mission statement that goes well beyond advocacy for the Palestinian people. Specifically, it contains an explicit call to “eliminate Zionism on our campuses and in our communities.”
So the declared purpose of this organization
— to rid the campus of any who oppose its views — strikes at the very core of Montclair State University’s mission and values.”

This formulation is bizarre, as ideologies are not people. But wait, there’s more:

“Allowing such an organization to enjoy the privilege of using University resources — even for purposes that are positive — would not only contradict our stated purpose, it would lead other members of our community to question the institution’s commitment to their safety, their inclusion. In particular, the many Jewish and Israel-supporting students, faculty, and staff who are experiencing distress, trauma and fear since October 7th would understandably feel targeted and more vulnerable.”

The mere suggestion that Jewish and Israel-supporting students, faculty, and staff support Zionism is an assumption that cannot be interpreted any other way than broad generalization, and even anti-Jewish thought  an individual is Jewish, ergo, they support Zionism, an explicit conflation of Judaism (a religion) with Zionism (a settler-colonial political ideology).

On Sunday, 10 March 2024 in Teaneck, NJ, and on Wednesday 13 March 2024 in Brooklyn, NY, there will be real estate events to sell stolen Palestinian land and homes, many of them in Israeli settlements, which constitutes war crimes under the 4th Geneva Convention, and to Jews only, which constitutes discrimination according to domestic U.S. law. This has taken place every 2 years in North America, and elected officials have thus far refused to shut them down, so we are calling on activists and people of conscience to shut down Teaneck, NJ and Brooklyn, NY

Sun. 10 March 2024 @ 11 a.m. ● Stolen Palestinian Land NOT FOR SALE

“Israeli” companies are marketing illegal settlements in the West Bank of occupied Palestine exclusively to Zionists here in America. These “real estate” events are a regular occurrence here in North Jersey and we are demanding that no private/personal/public space in our towns be allowed to host any such events that are in clear violation of several laws and in support of an illegal occupation committing genocide.
We will march from the Teaneck National Guard Armory to Keter Torah Congregation, which is the location of the real estate event.
Teaneck, NJ ● Teaneck National Guard Armory, 1799 Teaneck Road
