Open Letter to Legislative Dems: Is it AntiSemitic per your IHRA proposed law to Challenge Trump / Israel Removal of Palestinians from Gaza?
To: Democratic Party Members of NJ Legislature
You no doubt are aware of the unity between Trump and Israel behind a plan to force Palestinians in Gaza who survived 16 months of relentless genocidal slaughter by the US and Israel to leave their homeland of Gaza. Trump has pledged using US troops and Israel is remobilizing its forces for this next stage of the US – Israel genocide. Wholesale forced expulsion. Ethnic cleansing on the world stage. Suggestive of the forced death marches of US Native nations. Are the NJ Democrats in the Assembly and Senate united behind this next stage of the genocide?
Through your attempt to impose a phony IHRA doctrine on NJ law, you are about to pounce on advocates for Palestinians which in NJ likely includes at least a million voters, citizens and residents. If you add to that travelers through NJ and workers in NJ, students, tourists – millions will be subjected to these fascist attempts to provide thought control enforced loyalty to Israel.
With this joint US (Trump) – Israel operation to in effect commit Nakba 2 with total expulsion – after probably a quarter million of Palestinians have already been murdered – how will your proposed IHRA laws impact the ability for NJ to form a united front against Trump?
Will you be rallying for faux unity against Trump policies? Will you at the same time support Trump policies regarding the US – Israel genocide in Gaza – Nakba 2025 and revoked visas of Palestinian supporting students? Will you pass laws that can be used to destroy the unity needed to challenge Trump by providing the means to attack the best community organizers in NJ that see Palestine as central to any movement for justice?
You can not call for a united front against Trump policies while you are calling the cops on prominent forces in that front!
To date there is no authoritative statement coming from the Democratic Party challenging the US – Trump – Israel Nakba 2025 plan nor any Democratic Party challenge of the attempt to revoke visas for visiting students who support the Palestinian people. Meanwhile NJ Democrats in the legislature are promoting IHRA narrative laws that will eliminate protected free speech in NJ and the enforcement of these laws will be used to undermine NJ’s fightback efforts to challenge the actions, harm and danger of Trump’s policies overall as well as regards Gaza, the West Bank and the Middle East.
Trump’s mayhem and his frivolous stack of decrees suggests the need for a united front. NJ Democrats calling for such action against Trump while providing the means to undermine the building of a true united front in NJ, with Palestine advocacy centered among the other critical issues of concern is hereby exposed.
We are seeking clarification so that we can continue to advise our constituency how to navigate building true unity to challenge Trump policies and whatever aspects of Democratic Party collaboration are evident.
Sincerely,
Shamim Ahmed
