NJ CD-12 Congressional Contest: 12 Dem, 1 Green Candidate: 4 Worthy of Considering Based on War and Genocide Issues, Research Continues
Bonnie Watson Coleman is retiring after her current congressional term ends in January 2027. She has decided not to seek re-election. Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman has a career in public service and politics spanning over 50 years, including over 28 years in New Jersey state government and over a decade in Congress. Among NJ congress members, she has probably been the most supportive of the demands to end the US genocide in Gaza and a critic of war, repression and oppression. She has often voted against selling weapons to Israel and has been a voice of conscience against US – Israel genocide in Gaza. Who replaces her is a critical question and will detemine whether the strength of genocide opposition and opposition to US – Israel war making is increased or weakened in NJ.
Build a NJ legislative Peace Block by Only Supporting Candidates Who Will Struggle to Oppose US – Israel War on the Peoples of Iran, Lebanon and the Middle East and the genocide in Gaza!
3 DEMOCRATIC PARTY CD 12 CANDIDATES TO CONSIDER WITH DECENT OPPOSITION TO GENOCIDE
There are 3 candidates in the Democratic Primary contest that have positions that suggest potential that they can be instrumental participants in a Peace Block to end the US – Israel War in the MIddle East and oppose US – Israel genocide.
Dr. Adam Hamawy of the three has the most impressive record of challenging genocide. As a medical doctor, he traveled to Gaza to help save lives of Gazans who were genocided by the US and Israel. For several days he was in imminent danger. Obviously he did this not as a politician seeking votes – it was way before he considered running for office. He risked his life and saved lives. He understands the role of Israel in bringing terror and the need to contain the US – Israel genocide and war making in the Middle East. Nearly 2000 medical workers have been killed in Gaza in the last 2 years by the US and Israel genociders.
There are two other candidates with positive opposition to genocide in the primary:
Kyle Little signed our NJ Statement that demands that the US and Israel stand down in their aggressive attack on Iran.

Samuel Wang states his opposition to the US / Israel genocide on his campaign site. Click to consider Samuel Wang.
While Dr. Hamawy clearly has the more solid record of action in this regard and is currently front runner in the polling. it is important that we recognize those who leverage their political campaign by addressing demands for peace, justice and against genocide.
ALSO CONSIDER GREEN PARTY CANDIDATE ANDRES JINETE IN GENERAL ELECTION BID
Andres Jinete is not on the ballot for the Democratic Primary but is petitioning to run as a Green Party NJ candidate for CD-12. He is only in direct competition with which ever candidate wins the Democratic Primary. Candidate Jinete has endorsed and joined the Peace Block that CD-4 Green Party candidate Barry Bendar has called for.
Andres Jinete’s candidacy is important so that the issues can continue to be raised until the general elections in November 2026 regardless of who wins the Democratic Party primary.

9 DEMOCRATIC PARTY CD 12 CANDIDATES NOT WORTHY OF CONSIDERATION
Most of the Democratic Party candidates for the CD 12 Democratic Party nomination are not worthy of consideration at all . If you care about Palestinians, about containing Israel’s “Greater Israel” aggressive terror march against its neighbors and Israel’s attacks on our constitutional First Amendment Rights and oppose the US – Israel war on the nations and people of the Middle East the followinng candidates are not of interest to you at all.
Most of the Dem primary hopefuls are newcomers to politics but three of those whose candidacies should not be considered are seasoned political actors in NJ (Mapp, Altman, Reynolds-Jackson ).
Review of the the following candidates found either NO MENTION of foreign policy or militarism concerns or statemetns that were vague or militarist and war supporting. Anyone running for Congress in NJ who has no politics on genocide and the US – Israel war on the Middle East – cross them off – we can have no patience for anyone who is still silent. These are the ones with little or nothing to say on their campaign sites about genocide or militarism or support for peace:
Candidates with no foreign policy reference at all: Jay Vaingankar, Sugit Singh, Shanel Robinson and Brad Cohen
Candidates with a reference to foreign policy that is basically vapid meaningless nonsense: Squire Servance, Matt Adams
The following are more seasoned politicians who have taken actions that show that they are clearly part of the US – Israel genocide and war efforts – please do not consider them at all:
Adrian Mapp, the Plainfiled Mayor should be roundly rejected based upon him being a smear artist and his making libelous and dangerous statements toward candidate Dr. Adam Hamawy. Details on his complicity with this Trump repressive play is detailed in this recent article.
Sue Altman is also disqualified. She smeared Dr. Hamawy also – suggesting that his opposition to the US – Israel attacks on Iran were harmful to the Israel attacking nation. She also accepted AIPAC poison funds in her previous bid for Congress – last time running in CD 7. She seems to be trying to change her campaigh blouse to act as if she is not such an Israel puppet. I would suggest her first step would be multiply by 10 times the amount of AIPAC funds she has accepted and to personally donate that much to orphan support for Gazan victims whose blood she soaked her hands in exchange for AIPAC aligned funds. That would not atone but would possible acknowledge the harms that she contributed to.
Also disqualified from consideration is Verlina Reynolds-Jackson. She in her role as assembly woman has supported fascist repression of our First Amendment speech rights. She supported legislation to create harm and punishment for those who dare to criticize Israel. Indeed a NJ Paterson resident spent over a year in ICE detention torture death camps over her opposition to genocide. While Leqaa Kordia has been relessed she had been facing possible deportation to Israel which just passed a law to execute Paletinian political prisoners by hanging. Reynolds-Jackson’s political career should be ended over her support for fascism.
Anyone with updates to this information about these candidates or others feel free to write to Editor@FightBackBetter.com.
