What Should We Call It? US – Israel War on Nations and Peoples of Iran, Lebanon and Middle East Region
Folks have referred to this war of aggression against Iran that was started by US and Israel as “Trump’s War”, the “Iran War” and other monikers. What we call the war is important. The title should assess who is the culprit and who are the victims, not just name the geography involved. The difference is between saying the “Vietnam War” – totally not mentioning the United States, or calling it the “US War on Vietnam and South East Asia” naming the location. the peoples under attack and whose fault it is. How history is recorded creates narratives that should instruct and inform future behavior to international conditions – in a better world.
Of course including Israel in the title of the war is absolutely imperative. Many are calling it “Trump’s war” and criticizing the handling of the war. But they almost as a rule totally exclude Israel from the conversation. That is partly a result of how people grant Israel impunity so constantly for every depraved act but it is also deference to the positioning of Democrats who might want to be seen as being critical of the war but want to avoid actually opposing the war which requires a hardline anti Israel position.
To be antiwar right now we must demand that there be no financial aid to Israel, there be no sales of weapons and other war tech to Israel, no rebuild of the self destruction that Israel has brought to Tel Aviv, Haifa, the Iron Dome and basically all of Israel and no rebuild of US bases in the Middle East region. It is our job to hold that line. Those who ignore Israel’s role – which right now is to consistently use its influence with Trump to push escalation – which will lead to world wide disaster and possibly nuclear war – make it impossible for us to oppose the war.
You can not oppose this war and support Israel at the same time because Israel is the primary proponent of escalation. Trump is teetering all over the map – he is pressured from many sectors for relief from the disaster US and Israel has caused. He has openly stated that the struggles of the American people economically are not a factor for him. But every time those wanting a more stable planet get through to him about ending, Bibi is back on the bat phone telling him to escalate already. Of course the teeter totter is also a Wall Street grift with the insider info to set up the shorts – over a billion yielded in 5 tries so far but Israel is promoting Iran’s destruction among those that have Trump’s ear – and everybody needs to admit that in order to be able to oppose the war with actual effectiveness.
The title of the war must identify the main culprit. In this the United States and Israel launched a first strike war of choice under false pretense against Iran and within minutes of the launched attack – carried out a massacre against an elementary girls school where the daughters of many members of the Iranian Armed Forces were in attendance, 178 school girls, staff, rescuers and others killed in this operation that set the tone for the intended harm. Calling this the Iran War does not appreciate who started it and the intent of the guilty parties.
The pretense of the attack was the lie repeated by Benjamin “Netanyahu” Mileikowsky that Iran was 2 weeks away from having nuclear weapons. He has been saying that literally for over 30 years.
Trump’s own Counter Terror leader Joe Kent resigned in protest over the US attack on Iran and he has stated clearly that US intelligence had determined that Iran was not close to a nuclear weapon nor trying to build one – not two weeks and not working on it. Here is a video of him urging GIs not to follow illegal orders. He also revealed that Israel pressured the USA to launch the attack – but it does not seem like it took much pressure since Trump is a captive tool of Israel.
Also lets be clear about the fact that Iran had submitted a proposal to submit to monitoring of its nuclear program, basically to step back toward the JCPOA Agreement Iran had with the Obama administration at an ongoing “deal” negotiating with the Trump administration. It is clearly Trump doctrine to use negotiations as a foil from behind which to launch assassinations and other military adventures as was also done less than a year prior when Israel attacked, with US knowledge while Iran was talking to the Trump Administration. (It also happened to Hamas during negotiations for cease fire with the Trump Administration).
The fault of the launch of the war, the war itself, and every bad affect of the war is the fault of the starters of the war, the United States and Israel, along with the Gulf oil thiefdoms of United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia (these two more directly) and Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait. Iran has responded to the launch of the war and every US and Israeli escalation with reasonably calibrated comparable targeting as well as all of the US bases in the thiefdom nations from which the attacks occurred and Israeli military targets. All of the damages – including the damages of the counter attacks are the fault of the belligerent initiators of the Hitler styled aggression against Iran and Lebanon – USA, Israel and the complicit thiefdoms.
Speaking of Lebanon, as the first cease fire was announced by Trump, Israel within almost the first hour of the cease fire launched over 1000 attacks killing over 400 in Lebanon. Israel has used the whole attack on Iran as a cover to continue its Greater Israel march for world wide Zionist domination which includes taking over Lebanon. Israel is now claiming south Lebanon “to the river”. In a Hitlerist land grab Israel is driving Lebanese from the entire Southern half of the nation “to the Litani River”. The irony is rich because Israel has pressured the United States to stomp all over the people of this nation’s first amendment rights because Palestinian supporters chant “From the River to the Sea” and here they are seizing Lebanon “to the River.’ One of the first acts was blowing up all the bridges over the Litani River. Israel is carrying out the precise methods as carried out in Gaza in South Lebanon. The good news is Hezbollah has been able to destroy about 100 tanks and otherwise significantly slow down the Israel terror march in South Lebanon.
So lets make sure we call the war a title that reflects the true nature of the subject. The title does not have to match this editor’s suggestion 100% but it should reflect the true nature of the conflict, name the perpetrators and the victims and inform the narrative of the movement opposing the conflict.
