NJ Congressional Elections 2026: Where is the Peace Block?

The analysis is below, but for those in a hurry, we suggest for you to consider the following potential Peace Block candidates for the following respective Congressional Districts:

FightBackBetter has not been able to identify any good Peace Block candidates in Congressional Districts 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 or 9. This is an electoral failure of anti-war political power and we should probably start studying how to do much better to flex the political muscle of anti-war and anti-genocide. But for now lets make the best.

In a perfect world we would rise up and get Green Party candidates in those congressional districts so at least there is a way for our communities to vote against war and against genocide. This editor is not implying that the candidates we suggest you might consider agree with the whole Peace Block plan as discussed below. The hope is that the suggested considered candidates and even the candidates we exclude from suggestion read through the plan. We invite any candidate that believes that we should consider their inclusion in this article to contact the editor at editor@fightbackbetter.com. You may send us links and a way to communicate with us. We mainly relied on the information provided on the candidates’ campaign sites. We evaluate if the candidates are totally disinterested in stopping the deleterious impact of the US’s geopolitics on the entire planet and how it causes economic unraveling. If this information is not already on their websites, then it goes to say that it does not require a much deeper look.

It is possible that a candidate’s website is not totally up-to-date; thus, a candidate has any pertinent additional information we should consider about them, then we will consider including the candidate on the Peace Block listing. We intend to try to get this to every Democrat and independents’ attention. Everyone should be aware of some of the winds blowing right now.

Hamaway is the strongest of the Democratic Party choices, but FightBackBetter wants to encourage Kyle Little and Samuel Wang to continue to develop their understanding of the Middle East and overall world situation. Little and Wang should study how to use any future candidacies toward opposing war and protecting the planet. Andres Jinete will be on the ballot in November regardless of who wins the primary. If one of the pro-war and Pro-Israel Democrats win the primary, we will still have a Peace Block candidate going into November.

The survival of the United States and the planet depends upon the ability of the people of the USA to stop the United States and its war partner Israel from pushing the world toward regional and global war.

In recent weeks, there have been several times when President Trump suggested potential nuclear or other “nation ending” attacks on Iran for not submitting to the U.S.’s demands after the U.S. and Israel launched a full scale unprovoked first strike on the nation. Israel has also declared war on Lebanon and are attempting to seize Southern Lebanon simultaneously, which forced over a million to flee, destroyed tens of thousands of homes, and led to the murder of hundreds within an hour of the first ceasefire declaration.

The US legislative body right now is slightly skewered in favor of the Republican Party in both the House and Senate. That means the only way that Democrats as a party can take meaningful action to stoip the US war is if they unite 100% – if they block to call for war powers, to oppose funding requests for aid to Israel and weapons and war tech export to Israel and for supplemental funding to replenish the expended munitions and to continue the war.

No such unified action from the Democrats will indicate that the war is bipartisan and any attempt to blame it just on Trump and the Republicans will be fraudulent.

Barry Bendar is contending as Green Party candidate in NJ Congressional DIstrict 4. He has drafted a unity position that this editor believe pretty clearly identifies a Peace Block strategy to stop the US – Israel war on the nation and people of Iran. Fightbackbetter endorses the Peace Block strategy and agrees with the demands that Barry has set forth. We are inviting all of the congressional and senate candidates to review and consider embracing this antiwar strategy. For our purposes, we are going to consider those we have identified of being eligible members as the NJ Peace Block, even if at this point not all have endorsed the concept.

As a block, every democrat (or independent) must:

Immediately vote YES on the war powers act

Oppose any war supplemental funding request for the US – Israel war in the Middle East or for rebuilding US bases that were destroyed in response to the US – Israel aggression upon Iran

Vote against any and all support for weapons or other support for Israel

Oppose any anti-Iran resolutions – the US must accept its role as the aggressor and that the U.S. and Israel have the responsibility for stopping the war

Demand immediate unconditional halt of all US and Israeli hostilities

Challenge to all NJ Congressional Challengers in 2026

We challenge any of the candidates running for Congress in 2026 to join the call for a NJ Peace block in congress – that they will refuse AIPAC money, that they will call upon the sitting congress to vote for war powers and against supplemental funds for Middle East War, against funds and arms for Israel’s violence against its neighbors, and call for an immediate stand down by the US and Israel to save the planet from this reckless war, which aside from the millions of direct kills likely if escalation continues, will also result in millions of unnecessary deaths from more severe economic disaster and just might push the whole planet to nuclear disaster.

We invite all candidates to join in this plan to funciton as a NJ Congressional Peace Block. We also encourage other states to similarly build peace voting blocks – which will be needed if we are bring an end to endless wars in the MIddle East and elsewhere,

For our purposes we are considering all of the following as Peace Block candidates based upon their stated positions and actions:

Summarizing our findings, FightBackBetter urges you to consider support for the following candidates who would likely form a peace block to represent NJ:

This set of peace supporting candidates comes from the following analysis of the races

Congressional Districts 1. 3. 5, 6 and 9 – only one Peace Block candidate:

Analysis:

CD 2

None of the 3 primary Democratic Party candidates had any meaningful position on their respective campaign sites expressing concerns over war or genocide or Israel. FightBackBetter would not suggest support for any of these apparently pro-war or unconcerned candidates the Democrats are offering in CD 2.

CD 4

There are two Democratic Primary candidates, John Blake who has no campaign website and Rachel Peace who has no mention of concern of foreign policy or peace at all on her site. Neither unfortunately are Peace Block candidates. The good news is the author of the Peace Block proposed unity statement and the initiator of the Peace Block proposal, Barry Bendar is running for Congress to represent CD 4 – he will be on the ballot in November but not the primary. FIghtBackbetter urges you to click here to learn more about Barry Bendar and the over all Peace Block idea.

CD 7

FightBackBetter has not been able to identify any Democratic Party candidate whose worthy of being a Peace Block member. This editor had a personal run in with one of the candidates Brian Varela when I went to meet Roy Freiman and Mitchell Drulis at an event they held to gather petition signatures. I went with them because I was considering running because both Freiman and Drulis are fascists who believe people who disagree with them about Israel should be criminalized. When I went to talk to them, Varela acted like a thug – impeding my progress through the bagel restaurant where the event occurred. Freiman and Drulis ended up making a false police report accusing me of a felony that I could have gotten 10 years for – it never went any where. So Varela is no Peace Block member – more of a fascist politician goon. The other candidates have no Peace Block potential. Tina Shah straight up states she is 100% for Israel. Michael Roth has no mention of any foreign policy concern on his campaign site. Rebecca Bennett touts her as a pro-war militarism – and offers no critique of Israel or concern over war making.

FightBackBetter would not suggest any of these apparently pro-war or unconcerned candidates the Democrats are offering in CD 7.

CD 8

In the Pending Mussab Ali vs. Robert Menendez Jr. showdown there really is no contest. While Menendez has actually within the last 6 months been attempting to rebrand from super Israel to pro-Israel but critical, he will learn that is a fence he can not straddle any more. If you are with Israel by any measure you are a murdering scoundrel. We welcome though that he is worried about his past associations and we offer some suggestions to him. We want them to change their position but we are not fooled by the kind of politicians who whisper different stories to different constituents. It should be clear by now that the survival of the people of the United States is untenable with a continuos national destruction resulting from relations with Israel – for example the war of choice that US and Israel started on Iran.

Mussab Ali has stated a clear position opposing most US warfare and opposing US military assistance to Israel:

End Forever Wars

The United States is spending over $1 billion a day on foreign military engagements with no clear mission and no end in sight. These wars cost American lives and resources, devastate civilian populations abroad, and undermine our standing in the world. Congress must reassert its constitutional authority over war.

Promises:

  • Call for the immediate end to all foreign military engagements not directly tied to the defense of the United States and advance a War Powers resolution to constrain the executive branch’s ability to wage unauthorized wars
  • Demand an end to all military aid to Israel, conditioning any future assistance on a verifiable cessation of military operations in Gaza and full compliance with international humanitarian law
  • Advocate for diplomacy-first foreign policy that rebuilds alliances, strengthens international institutions, and centers human rights

We invite Mussab Ali to read Barry Bendar’s Peace Block plan – and comment on it and offer additional leadership for NJ’s congressional delegation to form a solid peace block in NJ. Click to consider Mussab Ali of CD 8.

Rob Mendendez Jr. throughout the two years plus of the US – Israel genocide on Gaza was a 6th member of NJ’s super Israel Democratic caucus. #NJAIPACMAGADem5 . He has received over a half million from Israel related pressure groups in just 3 years in Convress. More recently he is attempting to rebrand, perhaps due to this election cycle. On some very wretched bills that the other 5 NJ Democrats voted for, Menendez voted properly including rejecting Israel approval once.

This editor suggests that those politicians who took the AIPAC poison, they can acknowledge the harm they brought, the violence and murder, perhaps by donating 10 X’s the amount they took to Gaza orphan support. That would not atone but only begin to acknowledge. If Menendez does not have the full amount he can do it over 10 years.

Mussab Ali is the obvious better candidate in this primary contest regarding issues of war and genocide. FightBackBetter suggests Rep. Menendez to convert his election strategy into a genuine change in position – doing so can improve his game with NJ voters and also possibly help us prevent world war

CD 10

Incumbent LaMonica McIver has a relatively clean and good voting record on issues of opposing the US – Israel genocide. She typically votes along with Bonnie Watson-Colemen.There is one primary challenger but he has not set up his campaign site yet so no review is possible. To consider LaMonica McIver as a Peace Block candidate for CD 10 click here.

CD 11

In CD 11, Congress Woman Analilia Mejia made history when she was the only one during a debate of about a dozen candidates to raise her hand to say that what the US and Israel did in Gaza is genocide. It is largely due to her opposition to the US – Israel genocide that she was swept into her primary and then special election victory. Now in the June primary her challengers have no mention of any foreign policy concerns.

FightBackBetter urges CD 11 Democratic Primary voters to click to consider Analilia Mejia as a Peace Block caucus member.

CD 12

FightBackBetter concludes that the strongest Peace Block candidate in the Democratic Primary in CD 12 is Dr. Adam Hamawy and recognizes that Kyle Little and Samuel Wang also leveraged their campaign to help pressure to end the US – Israel war on Iran and genocide. Green Party candidate Andres Jinete has embraced the Peace Block concept and lays out very specific opposition to genocide, connecting Peace Abroad to Peace at Home. This article goes into more detail on CD 12 and explains why the other 9 Democrats did not make the cut.
