NJ Car and Truck Dealership Reportedly Declines 2026 Contract for ICE Van Torture Inserts – After Public Outcry

Holman Enterprises based in Mount Laurel NJ was offered a 2026 contract by the US Department of Homeland Security which oversees Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).  The purpose of the offered contract was for Holman to provide torture inserts for hog tying immigrant and other detainees that outlaw feds are rounding up by the 1000s across the US and the state of NJ.  There are internet records of a similar contract in past years under the Biden Administration for a small amount.

Public awareness about the proposed 2026 contract led to massive opposition including even a planned car caravan that was scheduled and then canceled when it was learned the contract offering might be in limbo.

Organizations involved in fighting the proposed contract include Cooper River Indivisible.  They recently sent this letter.  The cancellation or termination of the proposal was reported by the Patch. This FightBackBetter editor congratulates the organizations and individuals who turned up the heat which might have led to the defeat of this contract.

NJ must continue to work to prevent any business or individual in our state from profiting from the death and detention camp industry and victories like this one and the recent Republican Council of Roxbury that passed a resolution opposing converting a local warehouse into a DHS detention (death) camp shows power when we flex a little popular muscle.  Of course we have not turned back the relentless terror ICE is currently bringing to NJ but learning our strength and efficacy can help build momentum and inform our next steps.

As for this company Horman, it is apparent in internet records that it had done similar work for DHS in the past.  That is shameful.  The harms of US immigration policy go back to when the US first had an immigration policy.  The history of immigration control in the US has been nativism, racism, violence including murder, human rights abuses and that was true under the Biden Administration when Horman did similar ICE work.  That said, it is clear that the Trump administration is pushing harm, cruelty, violence, lawlessness and recklessness to new levels to the point of outright war against residents and citizens alike including street murders.

As for Horman’s past decisions to do this work – that is regrettable yet we welcome their decision now.  There is no way to undo the past unless they decide to donate funds from past contracts for immigrant harm relief and defense.  Aside from that it is an improvement that they are guiding the decision on the 2026 contract offering in a different direction.  Though we do not know the reason for the decision – let us hope and encourage Horman to steer clear of dealing in this market to assist systemic murder, harm, torture and inhumanity.

Figthbackbetter editors are looking to take inventory of all of the potential economic choke points on how NJ profits from the detention death machine.  There is the threat of the Roxbury warehouse to death camp siting, Citizens Bank financial connections to GEO death camp operator, the Palantir connection to NJ pension funds, Home Depot coordinates with ICE crackdowns . . . what else?  Let’s build out the grid of those raking it in on the money laundering component of the crackdown – and then we can use all of our muscle against all of the collaborative entities – based in or operating in the state of NJ!
