Open Letter to NJ Dem Asm Speaker Coughlin: Do You Denounce Violence of Pro-Israel Thugs Attacking Free Speech Rally on July 24?
This is an open statement to NJ Democratic Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin @SpeakerCoughlin
Do you condemn political violence? Did you get your Kirk statement posted yet? How about the rest of the Democrats in the Assembly – did you all get your “political violence” statements posted to your various outlets?
Well good because here is some political violence – that has the appearance as being in concert with your attempts to ram rod IHRA through in the Assembly before the elections. You called the Assembly back from summer recess over it on July 24 to try to speed fascist provisions to hand NJ’s top Trump resistance fighters off TO Trump because we who are best at fighting for the future of this nation have principled positions opposed to genocide. It is a no brainer – genocide is wrong and if we oppose ICE – putting NJ on an AI approval experiment for Medicare procedures – military occupations of our cities – we are most likely also against genocide. So when you unleash your IHRA on us – you might as well be down on both Trump boots – you are doing his bidding.
True fact: NJ and other state IHRA laws are modeled after an illegal Trump executive order from his first term (45).
So while you were in there expediting fascism and Trump’s conquer over NJ by giving him the fascist IHRA tool to come for us – we were outside protesting. Two guys helping the IHRA fascist cause attempted physical attacks upon us. I monitored them and I prevented the attacks with help of others. One of the attackers had a huge 15 – 20 foot flagpole with an Israel flag on top and he ran at our group and I prevented him from penetrating and ran the perimeter between him and our protesters. If his pole had landed on one or more of the free speech protesters – accidentally or intentionally – fatality and serious injury would have been the results. We had children, elderly, frail and able – all ages and we were attacked by two men aligned with your political efforts – already trying to take our free speech rights away while you were in there legislating it.
Do you know the two guys? One is in the video and the other we can get a photo if you need – but if you know them you know them – you do not need the picture? What was the organizations that they represented?
And here is the big question – do you condemn the political violence of these two pro-Israel fascist thugs that attempted physical attacks on our protests? Do you approve what they did in concert with what you were doing inside the building moving your fascist measure forward?
Lets have an answer and lets see if you really believe what you say? There are fascists attacking us outside and you act like legislative fascists inside – how is that calming things down – your IHRA effort dog whistled these two who brought physical attack on us. Condemn it – call it out and abandon your role by using the power the voters gave you to bring fascism by pushing IHRA!
IHRA codification and narrative has already brought untold violence against protesters of genocide across the USA and in NJ including on the college campuses. Passage of IHRA in NJ as NJ legislative Democrats are pushing, will cause a sharp rise in fascist repression – possibly police violence and even lethality – especially under the current political climate of the USA and NJ. The second part of the IHRA law package with the teeth will bring about cross the board budget cuts based upon the false pretense of the false accusation!
If you denounce political violence – prevent the political and likely lethal violence that your IHRA proposed will bring – with police being overcharged against the anti-genocide movement because your fascist laws will create pressure for that to happen.
Denounce political violence and prevent it by getting off the IHRA track and back focused on uniting people to fight the many fascist aspects of Trump policy – including genocide and including on our rights to say FREE FREE PALESTINE!
