Biden’s Very Temporary Opposition to Rafah Invasion Explained by Jason Call

The following was taken from a campaign letter received from Jason Call who is campaigning as a Green Party candidate for Congress in Washington State. This issue is something FightBackBetter has been trying to get to. Since Jason explains it nicely, we will just share his view on the matter with which this editor agrees. Also I am pointing out that while Biden’s temporary opposition to the Rafah invasion is largely performative, it did trigger what likely is coup talk within Israel’s government with Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israeli Security Minister openly equating Biden’s action with Hamas support. Ed.

Days after he was shamed into “pausing” a single shipment of 3500 bombs over their invasion of Rafah, Biden immediately reversed course and pushed another $1 billion in military aid to the genocidal apartheid state of Israel.

But even that wasn’t good enough for the House. Two days ago, 16 House Democrats joined nearly every Republican in passing the Israel Security Assistance Support Act, a bill meant to force Biden to keep shipping bombs to Israel.

As if he needs to be forced?

I don’t for a single second believe that Joe Biden will veto this bill if the Senate sends it to his desk.

And while Rick Larsen didn’t join the Shameful 16 this time, he has voted to shuffle BILLIONS in weapons to Israel every other time it’s come up for vote since October 7th.

The $29,800 Larsen has taken from AIPAC doesn’t even come out to $1 per death among the more than 35,000 Palestinians Israel has murdered in the last 7 months.

I don’t know how any of these monsters sleep at night. I barely can.

Every member of Congress – Republican, Democrat, or Independent – who votes to keep Israel fully stocked on the munitions that are mowing down Gaza right now is complicit.

Every member of Congress who takes money from the weapons manufacturers profiting off this slaughter is complicit.

This isn’t just Israel’s genocide. It’s America’s, too.

I’m a lifelong antiwar activist running to be the first Green Party member elected to Congress to stand up to the corrupt duopoly. My opponent is a former lobbyist turned career politician funded by the war machine.

Netanyahu belongs in the Hague. Joe Biden should be impeached for war crimes. And Rick Larsen needs to be wrenched out of Congress and out of Big War’s pocket.

In solidarity,

Jason
