VICTORY FOR OUR COMMUNITIES
After a year of local organization and community pressure, we achieved important protections for immigrant communities in the Legislature.
These bills include critical data and security protections and maintain some protections for people with final deportation orders — real achievements made possible by collective action and community power.
At the same time, let’s be clear and honest: there is still work to be done. Due process protections were removed, and that loss does matter. Our communities deserve better.
Today we celebrate this victory, as we reaffirm our commitment to continue fighting for full protections, dignity and justice for all people in our state.
