Stop Trump’s Bombing of Yemen—End U.S. Support for Genocide

by ian Hartman

According to AP News, President Donald Trump ordered a series of airstrikes on Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, on Saturday, vowing to use “overwhelming lethal force” until the Houthi movement ceases its attacks on Red Sea shipping. The Houthis, who control Sanaa, have been targeting maritime trade to pressure the world into halting Israel’s genocide in Gaza. These attacks had paused, but resumed after Israel refused to restore electricity, water, and humanitarian aid to Gaza—a blatant violation of international law and an act of collective punishment condemned by the International Criminal Court (ICC). Trump’s bombing campaign is not about “protecting trade” or “ensuring stability.” It is a direct attack on those acting in the interests of international justice. If Trump actually wanted to restore stability in the Red Sea, he wouldn’t be bombing Yemen—he would be pressuring Israel to end its blockade of Gaza.

The U.S. is Enabling War Crimes

Israel’s refusal to provide water, food, and electricity to Gaza is a crime against humanity, violating multiple international treaties— including those written in response to the Nazi atrocities including the Jewish holocaust of World War II. Trump, instead of enforcing international law, is choosing escalation, bombing, and imperial violence. We demand that he immediately end U.S. strikes on Yemen and use his power to force Israel to restore essential services to Gaza.

Democrats’ Silence is Complicity

At the same time, Democrats offer no real opposition. Kamala Harris campaigned on making the U.S. military “ultra-lethal”, and most leading Democrats refuse to condemn Trump’s military aggression out of fear of being labeled “unpatriotic.” Most Democrats in congress are trying to go record opposing various Trump policiies, often while they themselves have committed actions of support for Trump’s agenda. As of now there are no Democrat voices condemning this launch of warfare by Trump against Yemen.

This is the bipartisan war machine in action—where both parties prioritize militarism, empire, and Israeli apartheid over basic human rights.

The Solution is in the Streets

When the entire federal government is captured by the war machine, the only real opposition comes from us.
· Massprotests
· Strikes
· Direct action

These are the tools that can challenge U.S. complicity in genocide. Trump’s bombing of Yemen must stop. Israel’s blockade of Gaza must end. The time to act is now.
