Scotch Plains / Fanwood School Admin on Notice: Respect Free Speech Rights of Staff! CAIR Joins Action! Response to Board President Added
Editor’s Note: FightBackBetter wholeheartedly condemns the harassment and job threats to this teacher who did nothing but say the truth on their own time about the genocidal war crimes committed by the USA and Israel – all of it fully documented – livestream slaugther broadcast around the whole world for the last 15 months. What sort of administration thinks that it can control the lives off hours of their staff – control what they say and what they do and even what they think? Does your administration discriminate against views opposed to genocide? You have to be a genocide supporter to work there? You are on notice and the word is out. FightBackBetter will continue to publicize this attempt to repress and oppress staff and we demand that your administration respect the civil rights of your staff to embrace a world view guided by humanity and peace – not by psychopaths that believe opposition to genocide should be punished!
The above editor’s note has been sent to the school board members of this district. Please let them know your outrage over their repressive actions and your support for Kathy O’Gara by writing to them at these e-mail addresses:

📣 SHOW UP FOR KATHY O’GARA: 💪🏽 WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER!
Kathy, an avid supporter of human rights, is under attack, AND her employment at risk, by the Scotch Plains Fanwood BOE for speaking out against war crimes against humanity on HER time. This district has openly supported Zi on ist families, showing 0 empathy nor compassion for Pal estin ians and now have taken it one step further by targeting her for sharing educational items like books, articles, current events in Ga z a and action items against KNOWN war criminals!
We must stand together to let all places and institutions – ESPECIALLY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN CHARGE OF MOLDING YOUNG MINDS – know that this behavior is utterly unacceptable and despicable! There are authenticated reports, studies and arrest warrants by reputable international institutions including the ICJ, ICC, The UN supporting the fact that Israels violence on G a z a ns is on ge noc ide levels, how can this BOE blatantly ignore this and intimidate someone with their employment for speaking out against these crimes on her own time?!
✊🏽 WE, THE PEOPLE, REJECT THIS.

CAIR NJ has also joined this call to action:

We need the community to show up TOMORROW, Jan. 23!
We are deeply concerned about a situation at Scotch Plains-Fanwood School District involving a teacher facing backlash for simply supporting Palestinian human rights.
Kathy O’Gara has been an active and respected member of the community. She has used her personal social media platforms to warn her neighborhood and groups such as Jewish Voices for Peace about the presence of an IDF soldier. Misinformation has spread, falsely accusing her of organizing a rally at a synagogue, an event she neither participated in nor organized.
These statements were both false and defamatory. Even more troubling, the teacher was not given the opportunity to clarify her involvement. Instead, she received an email on Monday, and by Wednesday morning, she was abruptly told by the principal to pack up her things and leave if she refused to meet with the board. This decision was made without any discussion about the Chabad/Synagogue event, focusing instead on two unrelated posts she shared on her Facebook page as a private citizen.
O’Gara has expressed her views solely in her capacity as a private individual and has never claimed that her opinions represent the school district. She has no previous disciplinary issues, and the actions taken against her appear to be an attempt to prove that the school investigates such matters, rather than a fair and just response to the situation,
