Rowan SJP Reinstated After Broad Based Effort – Celebratory Gathering Noon Owl Statue Rowan Feb 18
Editor’s Note: In a victory for supporters of free speech and opponents of the phony “IHRA” smear narrative, the suspension of Rowan Students for Justice in Palestine organizational recognition has been lifted. Proudly, FightBackBetter recently published the complete statement of the students and coincidentally the next day a major NJ news outlet picked it up. It is clear that there are phony funded organizations that generate orchestrated feedback by minions around the nation and world based upon a canned message provided to them by funded entities aimed at repressing the free speech rights of citizens, residents, students, voters, all of us. They manufacture pressure campaigns based upon nonsense smearing accusations that bottom line defines political expressions they disagree with around the topic of Israel as “anti-Semitic”. Well given the far and wide support received by the Rowan students and their own skilled professional campaign – the organization has been reinstated. While it is welcome that Rowan is walking back the mistake it has made, it is no excuse to simply ban something because some robot campaign motivates minions, some likely paid, to send e-mails from far and wide. It is not an acceptable alibi for the repressive action and we are taking notes. But we do welcome your remedial action and hopefully look forward to a more thoughtful approach that recognizes the rights of the politically and worldly diverse student body.
ROWAN! Students for Justice in Palestine has been UNSUSPENDED. We could not have done this without your support. The public pressure amounted by all of you was pivotal in achieving our demand. But – this demand was just the first step. We can’t stop here. We have to continue to question the policies, procedures, and systems that got us here in the first place. The resistance against the repression, occupation, and structures that brought us here still exist and we fight until they aren’t. THE RALLY IS STILL ON, WE’LL SEE YOU THERE!
