Andy Kim’s First Senate Act: Votes Approval for Trump ICE Crackdown by Supporting Kristi Noem @ DHS

NJ US Senator Andy Kim joined Jon Fetterman and a small handful of US Senate Democrats to cross the aisle and back Trump’s pick of extremist Kristi Noem as the new head of Department of Homeland Security and the new chief of the major ICE crackdown that is terrorizing the folks of NJ now. Yes, this is NJ’s same Andy Kim who had been touted in 2024 as a progressive Democrat. I have even heard theories that he was steered to the left by his primary challengers who joined him at his swearing in ceremony.

So what did Kim vote for in ponying up his Senate vote for Noem?

Noem is an anti-immigrant fanatic. She rails against “illegal aliens” and “got aways.” She now is in charge of the nationwide crackdown that is terrorizing cities across the USA currently. They are targeting schools, places of worship, workplaces, public gatherings, shopping venues – knocking on doors – seeking suspected immigrants without proper documentation.

A review of Andy Kim’s X home page – where he usually parades his accomplishments, family news, his political views . . . there is no mention of his vote for Noem. Is he not proud? He does not feel like he should explain it?

What else is missing from Andy Kim’s X page? Other Democrats in NJ are making bold statements opposed to the ICE crackdown that is ramping up in cities across NJ. Andy Kim has no comment on his X site and he just voted FOR Noem who will be the chief of these repressive crackdowns. In effect NJ Democratic party voters united behind Andy Kim for US Senate and touted supposed progressive values and KIm has brought NJ’s Democratic Party electorate into unity with Trump’s ICE crackdown by joining another dirty half dozen Democratic Party Senators to cross the aisle and give bipartisan approval to the ICE crackdown.

NJ must be wary right now – we need a political and physical response to the ICE crackdown that will likely also be targeting pro-Palestine protests in NJ. DHS has already attended NJ pro-Palestine protests – they now will be there with an additional objective – on the watch and prepared to “snatch and grab” suspected immigration documentation suspects.

As for the political response when we are told that the answer politically to the crack down is to support the Democratic Party candidates we need to ask – you mean like Kim who voted in favor of this crackdown by backing Noem?

Asked for comment on Kim’s support for the ICE crackdown, Christina Khalil who stood as an oppoent of US support for genocide challenging Kim in the general elecitons in 2024 offered the following comment:

“It’s disappointing, but not surprising—this is exactly what happens when corporate interests are put ahead of the people. Voters deserve leaders who have the courage to stand their ground and champion the most vulnerable in our communities. Andy had the chance to take real action, show up for the people, and push for policies that would make immigration safer and more efficient—something I would have prioritized from day one if elected. Instead, he chose to align with and support figures like Noem. Elected officials must be proactive, principled, and unwavering in their commitment to the people they serve. These are traits Andy doesn’t have and is living up to the disappointment I knew he would bring in such a powerful position. It’s clear he believes he is entitled to his seat and not eager to work for justice. I can also say this with confidence, Menendez would have never voted for Noem.” – Christina Khalil, opponent of US support for genocide who challenged ICE crackdown supporter Kim in the NJ general elections for US Senate in 2024
