In order to prep for a zoom call session tonight, Sunday, January 18 at 8pm primarily focused on the #NJICEBreakingNews work flow and reporting methods this editor pilled this meeting plan together. Since we want to engage also those unable to attend tonight into this process we are publishing the current plan. Whatever pertinent to NJ comes across – grab links, text, video, pictures for the categories in the template and put them in that section. At appropriate point – load the in progress into FightBackBetter posting – if more comes in while editing, add, review and make more presentable, publish and promote, distribute.

Going forward more work might take place in WordPress if there were a team that had access and collaborating. Automated API’s are being developed to monitor social media for postings that represent a cross section of developments – which could be edited into the daily posting.
CALENDAR
A calendar is at FightBackBetter – if we have a team maintaining that – a multi organizational calendar could empower / build greater convergence. We might develop methods to auto merge calendar feeds from organizations that can provide the minimal number of data pieces needed for a calendar entry in a standard input (delimited or sheet or similar) format.
ORGANIZATIONS
We are going to attempt an index into organizations that have public profiles in social media. We are gathering the data – here is the spreadsheet for this so far. We could come up with an autofeed to grow the index if groups can get the data to us in a standard format, possibly somewhat similar to in this sheet.

The entries for each organization we will invite the groups to personalize the postings if they want.
FEEDiNG REPORTS TO THE DAILY #NJICEBREAKINGNEWS REPORTS
For now the information is mostly gathered by this editor and people are also sending links and info through direct messaging and the NO COMPLICITY NJ Whatsapp group.
We are working on a means to automatically pull data from Facebook Pages – however there is a need to initially get approval to add page admins to a role in the app we are writing for it to work. If we get that working it will be an extreme time saver. We will need to work with the immigrant support teams to set that up and determine the best way to accomplish it.
For now we could use more support – if people can send in the links of reports it makes it easier for us to pull it together. There is a drop form on evern #NJICEBreakingNews report toward the bottom that people can use to send content but you can also get it to me through my various social media connects, what’app, text, signal or / Editor@fightbackbetter.com .
METRICS
A realistic proposal has been made for FightBackBetter to assist in gathering metrics on ICE terror and reporting them. A standard of documentation is needed for confirmed ICE activity which from a distance could be other kinds of police activity.
CONSOLIDATED ICE TERROR TIMELINE FOR NJ BACK TO JANUARY 2025?
We are consolidating the information we have gathered since we started this coverage on December 20, 2025 into a single timeline posting. We can work with all teams – with some support to gather past information going back to January 2025 – that process would need to be a back burner process. We can probably do a better job capturing the data going forward as it happens. But we should do both ideally. The following is the work in progress consolidated ICE reports article:
VIDEO MAINTENANCE
It is not an intent to be invasive of video management of teams who are capturing NJ history by video recording ICE operations and the actions of federal agents bringing harm to the community and its members. There is a danger with social media that the network could take repressive action and delete an account and any history captured at that site. The recommendation is that a catalogued hard copy and / or cloud version of every video, indexed with pertinent information on the video and the exact storage points of the video’s multiple stored copies, as well as links to social media. It is also suggested that in addition to presenting the videos as currently in social media – present them in another forward facing video service – Youtube potentially but that site also has take down videos and accounts or another similar video site.
There definitely are chain of evidence issues but at the same time as a whole a good catalogued set of videos can help make a case especially on a systemic level – as a case must be made and every effort to preserve whatever evidence we have collected is important for the potential of justice. This mention is not to criticize or suggest that any group or individual is not already fully addressing these issues. This editor is interested from a news serving perspective of having the historic record preserved and would assist if anyone requested in tightening if there is a need.
Increase circulation of ICE Breaking News (FightBackBetter in general)’
Individual organizers and activists should go to FIghtBackBetter.com and NJ ICE Breaking News ideally once per day. Read and share what is helpful and share the links of the daily reports and other articles you find could help to your organizational chat groups in signal, whatsapp, discord and elsewhere.
Social media sharing methods. This editor’s least repressed app right now is Bluesky – if you are not repressed in other apps the following is a method to share individual links.
Are there pages willing to share the daily articles? (This editor gave up trying to use facebook pages and groups since he is extremely repressed on Facebook but others groups seem to have flowing sites0
Are there signal, whatsapp, discord, etc discussions our team can join that can accept 1 posting a day?
Are there participants in any such discussions that can drop our links to their groups?
Visiting FightBackBetter
FightBackBetter recognizes its true strength when a significant number of users go there and interact witht the daily postings on their own – hopefully taking the links and promoting them. Once there is organic use of the site – there will be a turning of the curve of the power of putting information on to the site/ FightBackBetter has proven to this editor that it has the power to positively impact outcomes – short term and long term. ANTIWAR – NEWARK COMMITTEE OF 5 TO CALL ANTIWAR PROTESTS
Given the Trump administration constant acts of war and threats of war we need a more dynamic response team for protests in Newark NJ – we were unsuccessful in calling a protest in Newark in response to the US attack on Venezuela – though there was a press conference prior that FightBackBetter worked into a press announcement leading to Patch coverage putting NJ on record against the attack.
