Macklemore Hinds 2: Kamala, … if you’re listening – Stop sending money and weapons or you ain’t winning Michigan!
In an incredibly moving sequel to Macklemore’s world wide super hit Hinds Hall in support of the anti-genocide student movement, the popular recording artist called out the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris as follows:
Hey Kamala, I don’t know if you’re listening
But stop sending money and weapons or you ain’t winning Michigan
We uncommitted, and hell no we ain’t switching positions
Because the whole world turned Palestinian
It is clear that Kamala has no intent of stopping the weapons to Israel as the brutal slaughter continues and escalates. Israel is now threatening to force Palestinians completely out of Gaza City which will result in 1000s more killed and Kamala keeps sending the weapons.
Macklemore is predicting that Kamala will lose Michigan accordingly.
His song is not offering just idle rhetoric. There clearly is a significant portion of voters turning away from Kamala Harris over the genocide targeting 100s of 1000s of Palestinians in Gaza and increasingly on the West Bank lately.
A study by Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) found that in at least 3 battleground states, according to their polling study, Muslim voters are favoring Jill Stein the anti-genocide Green Party candidate over Kamala Harris. Muslim voters as a whole usually tilt Democratic so this is no doubt hurting to the Democratic Party chances of winning in the close battleground states.
Furthermore, a major coalition of Muslim associations have issued a call for Muslims NOT to vote for Kamala and instead to favor Jill Stein, the anti-genocide Green Party candidate or two other candidates that have positions opposing arms to Israel and calling for an immediate and permanent cease fire.
Macklemore’s reference to Kamala Harris is not the main point of the song. The song and video is an outcry for world unity against US – Israel genocide.
