Democrat Slate Fundraiser Attracts “Let Gaza Live” Protest in Lambertville NJ 10/16/2024

No business as usual as Democrats are being confronted by the opposition to their complicity in the slaughter of the Palestinians, Lebanese and the escalation toward total Middle East War by US supported Israel. The Democratict Party is raising fears over Trump fascism, which is also a real threat, and meanwhile pushing fascist measures that are being used to repress the growing chorus of opposition to US supported genocide. But more and moreso they are benig confronted by protests at their campaign events – including here in Lambertville NJ on October 16 – and October 12 in Paterson NJ, see linked article below.

The following description of the activity is from one of the key organizers:

Kamala was speaking in Washington’s Crossing, Pa. and her husband came to an elitist fundraising event in my hometown of Lambertville (which incidentally, has been facing a housing crisis and forced displacement due to rising housing costs as a result of a wave of wealthy nouveau that settlers have come to town.) The cheapest ticket was $3,500 for reference. A group of local residents rallied together within 24 hours notice and organized a protest out front of the event to send a clear message that Kamala needs to “Earn our votes” by demanding a permanent ceasefire and an arms embargo. We also crowdfunded to get Palestinian food from @zadalbasha in Doylestown so we could share food with residents and teach them more about Palestinian culture.

Several of us present have lived in Palestine and we had a good number of Jewish residents in our protest including people with family in Israel, an older woman who was arrested in DC with JVP, and another who brought the traditional goats horn and taught us Jewish songs for peace.

Thank you to my amazing community for showing up and sending a message to Kamala and Doug in front of their elitist fundraiser in my hometown today. We chanted, screamed, and sang songs of liberation for a good 7 hours. I was impressed and humbled by the turnout and the beautiful display of interfaith solidarity. We also had amazing food DONATED by @zadalbasha and we will be donating the money we crowdfunded for food to @doctors_for_hope to help them educate children in Ga/za.

Thank you all so much!!
