On Eve of No Kings Massive Rallies Democrats Delay Vote for War Powers Act

In recent days as the horrors of the US – Israel initiated war of aggression against the nation and people of Iran have begun to peel back support for the disaster even from some hard core MAGA Republicans in the House of Representatives. Several had stated that they would vote for or consider voting for War Powers Resolution. The measure could possibly have been passed today. After today, March 27, Congress has a two week recess. The Democrat leadership, Gregory Meeks and Hakeem Jeffries are failing to bring the vote to the floor today meaning that there is no brakes on Trump’s mayhem causing war, his routine threats to send ground troops, attack the energy infrastructure of Iran or use nuclear force. It is even possible that we are in nuclear war before the end of the congressional break – but that is not a concern of the Democratic Party leadership in congress. The failure to do everything to stop the war immediately by the Democratic Party provides a dire warning with the midterms approaching – if the Democrats are seen as endorsing the US – Israel initiated war in the Middle East it will likely result in frustration and lack of motivation among the Democratic Party voting base that recognizes the horrors of the war and the complicity of the Democratic Party in this horrendous war!
This is the eve of the Democratic Party aligned NO KINGS national day of massive rallies across the country. Many statements will likely be made criticizing Trump’s war at this event. Meanwhile the Democratic Party will soon be asked to support $200B supplemental funding for the war. In NJ the most likely to vote for it in the US Senate is Cory Booker and in the House, Reps. Pou, Conaway, Pallone, Norcross and Gottheimer are the most likely to vote to fund the war.
The delaying of war powers act – on the eve of NO KINGS will render inaccurate all of the statements made tomorrow about “Trump’s War” -as was shown by Democratic Party fail in the previous WAR POWERS fail and the resolution smearing Iran as the world’s biggest terrorist in the aftermath of US and Israel committing according to the Hague the worse form of war crime – the crime of war of aggression. Now with a two week delay of a War Powers resolution as the numbers were there to possibly pass it today – the Democratic Party has again tacitly endorsed “Trump’s war”. It is even possible that we could end up with nuclear war within those two weeks and if so Meeks and Jeffries and the US Democratic Party helped Trump and MAGA orchestrate the destruction – the Democrats are helping Trump to “push the button” . – Bob Witanek, Editor, FIghtBackBetter

So it is now apparent Democratic House Leadership, HFAC Ranking Member Gregory Meeks and Leader Hakeem Jeffries are failing to bring the Iran War Powers Resolution to vote this week, despite having the votes needed to pass it— Effectively delaying a House vote until mid-April, allowing Trump’s illegal, aimless Iran war to continue and American boots to hit the ground.
NIAC Action New York will be organizing a press conference outside Democratic district offices in New York to call out this inaction and demand accountability.
