Rutgers STOP US / ISRAEL WAR ON IRAN / NO ICE Protest Fri. 4/10 5 – 7pm Hamilton / College Av – Right of Way Free Speech Protest
The Green Party of New Jersey together with NJ BURN (Build Up Resistance Now) and FightbackBetter are organizing a second protest at the edge of the Rutgers College Avenue New Brunswick campus against US wars abroad including on Iran and US domestic terror against the US civilian population. We welcome everyone to attend and participate as endorsers and/or speakers to call out the oppression and aggressions committed by United States against the world.
DEMANDS:
We Demand US and Israel Immediately Stand Down by Halting All Military Hostilities Toward Iran: Only then can meaningful negotiations transpire.
We Demand NJ Democratic Party Congressional and Senate Delegation must unify and vote as a block to stop the Trump Administration’s request for $200 Billion supplemental funding for the illegal first strike war of choice US and Israel initiated. Leading Democrats are already indicating they will endorse and vote to fund Trump’s war on Iran. In NJ pressure is needed on all of the Democrats and the ones most likely to vote with MAGA for war include US Senator Booker and NJ Congressional Representatives Pou, Conaway, Gottheimer, Pallone and Norcross.
We Demand ICE off campus and total dismantlement of ICE and prosecution of its criminal perpetrators.
We Demand an end to Rutgers complicity with the IDF through its relations with Tel Aviv University and the Rutgers Center for Critical Intelligence.
We Demand an end to the genocide in Gaza and the removal of Israel and foreign forces and economic interests from Gaza
We Demand Hands off Venezuela and release of President Maduro, his wife Celia Flores, Hands of Colombia, an end to the blockade and Hands off Cuba
No to the wave of repression and the threats to unleash AI Palantir driven unmanned vehicles for lethal force against the US population based upon our political views per National Security Presidential Memorandum 7 .
The current situation in Iran poses significant risks for the entire world. When we allow our government to bomb and invade countries without facing the repercussions we reinforce a troubling precedent,AGAIN, that we can manipulate global affairs and pursue the empire we’ve always claimed to be. We are instead solidifying our image as a ‘warmonger’ for generations to come, setting ourselves up as the main enemy while causing substantial harm to entire populations and on the environment.
This occurs through the complacency of both parties, motivated primarily by profit at the expense of human beings. We need to unify our efforts and continue advocating for peace every opportunity we have because that would be our legacy to our children.
FRIDAY, APRIL 10, 5 – 7PM, Corner College Av / Hamiliton St (GPS Search 40 College Av) (Rutgers), New Brunswick, NJ 08901
RIGHT OF WAY PROTEST – DEFEND THE FREE SPEECH RIGHTS OF RUTGERS STUDENTS
In organizing this event we are hearing that many of the campus groups at Rutgers now fear having protests on Rutgers grounds given the repressive campus climate targeting opponents of war and genocide. This protest will not occur on Rutgers property but at the “right of way” edge or the road. In the USA we have a protected free speech right to assemble without a permit – at roads edge – technically we can be made to keep moving – which is why labor unions picket when they are forced to strike in front of employment locations. So if pressured we will create a roving picket.
This event is organized by community organizations disconnected from the university recognition and control process. We invite students to represent their constituencies – to speak out, carry signs and advocate against war – as individuals. They can do so without linking to the recognized groups to protect those groups from arbitrary repressive action by the Rutgers Administration which is openly complicit with the IDF and Israel terror through the Rutgers connection to Tel Aviv University.
