Keep NJ Names off the NSPM-7 “Domestic Terrorist” List: NJ Must Protect Us from the Harms of Trump’s National Security Presidential Memorandum-7 – Read, Sign, Share!
1. Describe issue:
On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the newly formed No Complicity NJ Committee had what they called a “Public Hearing in the Street” to testify about and denounce what they consider to be the repressive National Security Presidential Memorandum 7 (NSPM-7) signed by President Trump on September 25th, 2025. The event took place outside the FBI complex in Newark on the corner of McCarter Highway and Centre Place.

The No Complicity NJ Committee calls upon NJ Governor Murphy, Governor-Elect Sherrill, and Attorney General Platkin NJ Testifies, Calls for Protection from NSPM7 Repression and Harms: “Keep NJ Names off the NSPM7 Harm List!” – NJ Palestine Support News to protect NJ citizens and residents from what they feel are repressive harms of NSPM-7. They want the prohibition directed by the Office of the Attorney General toward NJ police that forbids participation in federal immigration law enforcement to any participation in NSPM-7 implementation.
NSPM-7 lists 10 opinion categories that can qualify an individual or organization to be secretly placed upon a domestic terrorist list with proscribed potential legal, police, military, and other harms up to, and including lethal harm.
Since the November 12th, 2025 public hearing, the concerns of No Complicity NJ have been confirmed as a leaked memorandum has surfaced that aims to engage police and the public on this attempt to falsely label and harm US citizens and residents as domestic terrorists over opinions, speech, and activities that are protected in the US Constitution under the First Amendment. Ominously The Intercept is reporting that it continues to inquire and the White House continues to refuse to rule out summary execution of those placed on the “domestic terrorist’ list.
2. Appeal to the powers that be, referring them to the hearing and the groups at the hearing, and demand the actions.
We are organizations and individuals signing this letter to call upon NJ elected and appointed officials to take action to protect us from the severe harms that NSPM-7 can bring to our communities in NJ. We call for immediate action by NJ Governor Murphy, Governor-Elect Sherrill, NJ OAG Platkin, the NJ legislature, and local municipal mayors, councils, and committees to protect your constituents, and by proxy, all citizens and residents of NJ from the harms of NJPM7.
To Governor Murphy, Governor-Elect Sherrill, Attorney General Platkin and Attorney General Nominee Jennifer Davenport;
- Immediately and publicly acknowledge the potential harms of NSPM-7.
- Extend the current Immigrant Trust Directive or issue a similar directive to forbid NJ police from aiding and abetting NSPM-7 constitutional violations.
- Provide an explanation as to what measures you will take to protect NJ citizens and residents from the harms of NSPM-7.
To the NJ Legislature:
- Immediately pass the Immigrant Trust Act
- Enact a similar measure to preempt NJ police and other NJ complicity with the proposed illegal and unconstitutional NSPM-7 crack down.
To Municipal Governing Bodies:
- Pass ordinances pre-empting local police and other municipal participation in NSPM-7 and other unconstitutional repression of free speech rights.
- Communicate NSPM-7 dangers to communities and outline what actions you are taking to protect your constituencies.
3. Appeal to organizations to address this from their perspectives to join the letter, help us organize hearings, and pressure state and local officials.
We, the signers of this letter, urge the following for justice and freedom-oriented organizations and constituencies of NJ:
- Please sign this letter and communicate the letter and your support to your constituents, and please send your own cover letter to government authorities.
- Please work together with us to continue the hearing process. We are seeking written and videotaped testimony, which we are publishing, as well as for organizations to consider hosting additional public hearing events.
We urge all citizens and residents of NJ:
- Please also sign the letter and follow the suggestions to organizations.
- Write your own letters and build out the analysis as to how NSPM-7 will harm specific constituencies: those concerned about racism, LGBTQ and supporters, immigrant supporters, antiwar and justice seeking, those who see the need for fundamental change and opponents or critics of capitalism and those who have a critique or a disagreement with Christianity and who speak truths about US history so that we can better inform our communities.
- Please assist in circulating this letter and work to stay personally informed and be aware of and take personal measures to keep safe – to join and support organizations, and not to be afraid to speak up.
To All:
The most important thing for all of us is to disregard this attempt to shut down our constitutionally protected rights. Work to converge and unify everybody and educate and inform, raise discussion and controversy about the harms being brought to us – sort through the contradictions and never be intimidated. Repression is growing and will come and the harms will be horrible but our only bottom line solution is for unified resistance to repression and driving back the repressive forces.
