This weekend, Dr. Hamawy, who completed two volunteer medical missions to Gaza, will speak about his experiences at Playdate4Peace fundraiser. He will be joined by Dr. Omaya Mansour, a dedicated advocate for Gaza, who played a key role in bringing Dr. Hamawy home after Israeli authorities closed the Egyptian border, and other advocates and academics who have lived in Palestine and will share their experience. Their presentations will shed light on the challenges facing Gaza and the importance of humanitarian efforts.
The event will feature activities for children, including arts and crafts projects, face painting, and a Palestinian storybook session. Attendees can also participate in a raffle with prizes such as a $150 gift certificate to Albasha Restaurant. Traditional Palestinian food and drink will be served, offering a taste of the region’s culture alongside opportunities to support Gaza advocacy. 100% of the proceeds will go to support two Gazan families with young children. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door or through Eventbrite RSVP.
