Vic Kaplan of Libertarian Party Joins Call to Protect NJ from NSPM7 Harms Outside FBI Complex, Newark, Nov. 12 2025
In October, less than a month before election day we heard about the NSPM7 plan to bring legal and potentially every other kind of harm to citizens and residents based upon our thoughts, words and actions on 10 categories of opinions and we began to speak out. This editor reached out to Wirite In Green Party candidate Lily Benavides about the dangers of NSPM7. We reached out to some others who were very concerend so we began our efforts to try to protect NJ citizens and residents. We advocate that the same direction for ICE in NJ, that NJ police are directed not to participate in federal immigration law enforcement should apply to NSPM-7. The NSPM-7 signed by Trump calls for Joint Terrorist Task Force (JTTF) participation in the thought control disruptive efforts. NJ state and local police departments are heavily connected to the JTTF which is coordinated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Liberatarian Party candidate Vic Kaplan heard about the issue and our efforts and decided to also speak up on the issue. He was one of the early opponents in NJ of NSPM7 and he immediattely saw fit to join the effort to call for NJ ro protect our citizens and residents, to heed our call to keep “NJ Names off the NSPM7” list. Here is his testimony outside the FBI complex in Newark opposing NSPM7 and joining the call to NJ to protect our citizens and residents.
(Vic Kaplan) of the Libertairian Party:
I arise in Strong opposition to this (National Security) Presidential Memorandum Number 7.
The American people and that means anyone who is on soil in the United States have an inherent right to free speech. It’s a natural right that we’re all born with and no government federal, state or local can restrict our natural right to free speech. As I looked at the memorandum, it mentions criticism of the government which is all protected by free speech, criticism of capitalism, criticism of religion, which is Christianity. Does that mean that people are atheist? Does that mean that they’re now being criminalized?
It also mentions anti-Americanism without any definition of what that means. Is any opinion different from the one that’s held by government officials is anti-American? Is any opinion different when it comes to the issue of immigration which is listed in this memorandum? Is that anti-Americanism on an issue where the majority of Americans are not on the side of the federal government?
When we lose our free speech, if we lose our free speech, then nothing else is sacred. Nothing else is safe. If we don’t have free speech, we have nothing. So, I just want to end with this. I’m glad that all of you guys were able to come here because free speech affects everybody. There’s always something that we believe in that someone else will disagree. And we don’t put an end to this that no one know will be safe. No matter what opinion we’re talking about, people are applauding this, people who support this may not know that they may be next. Right?
Then the next time another government takes power, another side uh holds the reigns in the White House, they might use this memorandum against them. They may use that memorandum against Republicans whether they can imagine it or not. We know this because it’s been done before. So that’s all I want to say. Thank you so much. Thank you. Let’s keep the party alive. Thank you.

Lana Leguia, another participant from the Libertarian Party who attended the protest of NSPM7 points out the video camera that likely provided some entertainment to the national surveillance state., Whether there was attention to our hearing, we can assume it is in the file.
We called the event a “Public Hearing in the Street” and indeed the National Security was listening although we have no evidence that our message is being heeded by the powers that be . . . YET!
