NJ DeFacto IHRA In Effect: The Racist False Convictions of Lisa Davis

Editor’s Note: NJ Legislative Democrats fully united with the Trump supporters in the NJ legislature with support from both Governor candidates Mikie Sherrill and Jack Ciattarelli are hellbent on criminalizing opposition to their support for genocide, ethnic cleansing and forced starvation of Palestinians in Gaza and similar actions against Palestinians in the West Bank.

The malicious and false prosecution – the legal hit put upon LIsa Davis by the absolutely corrupt South Orange municipality, mayor Sheena Collum, the Police Department brass on down to the lying street patrol officers, the prosecutor and the filthy corrupt judge who will be remembered historically for passing this clearly illegal and racist judgment is exactly how NJ will roll in the future – using Kafkaesque legal dynamic on full display to bring false legal action based upon false and lying pretense – with an entirely false legal IHRA construct to come for our community organizers – Collum and Trump are exactly the same when it comes to using fascist methods to control political opposition. South Orange is considered a liberal Democrat Party town that brought the Sun Down styled prosecution of Lisa Davis who is often the only Black participant in rallies against mass slaughter that are legally held in South Orange – according to the consittution if not according to the unconstitutional ordinances that South Orange is enforcing using false police testimony and flawed legal anti-judicial reasoning.

The ordinances that were used to prosecute Lisa Davis – and she is perfectly innocent of both charges upon which she has been falsely convicted – are thoroughly unconstitutional. First Amendment speech is protected and the US Consitution is the permit. Police can enforce loitering laws and require protesters to picket but they have not been doing that before or after this false prosecution of Lisa Davis. The fraud of Democrats standing up to Trump fascism while bringing fascism into our communities to prosecute opponents of the genocidal actions they are fully guilty of – presided over by Mayor Collum is unmasked and now on full display!

While corrupt mayors like Collum can manipulate court procedures and oversee the clearly racist revenue grab of for most part only prosecuting Black and Brown residents in municipal court – they can NOT control how history will record their racist and corrupt actions. Nobody has been silenced – the least of which is Lisa Davis – we are outraged and emboldened by Lisa Davis’s example to take this struggle to new and higher levels.

The following is some commentary by Lisa Davis that she posted on Facebook on August 17.

I got accosted by a raging zionist at a pro Palestine /CEASE FIRE vigil on 3/31/25 in South Orange, NJ, but the town and State CRIMINALIZED my behavior. (Please keep in mind when reviewing this post how beast officers just recently murdered Ms Deborah Terrell, a Black 68 year old grandmother in her home, and how that’s the 4th state executed murder in 3 years of Black & Brown people who were in need of assistance. The judge’s name is Jonathan Rosenbluth and the municipal prosecutor’s name is Gracia Robert Montilus. They’ve got quite a thing going with the township of Maplewood/South Orange. The townships keep finding ways of TARGETTING AND OPPRESSING BLACK FOLX, STEALING OUR MONEY and creating windfall profits off of OUR BLOOD AND OPPRESSION!

SOUTH ORANGE and MAPLEWOOD prey on Black folk. BEAST OFFICERS CRIMINALIZE EVERYTHING WE DO, WE GET DRAGGED INTO COURT AND JUDGES LIKE ROSENBLUTH ARE GONNA MAKE IT STICK AND WE GET FINED! Cuz that’s exactly what they did to me!

They literally criminalized my every behavior! HERE IS A VIDEO OF WHAT HAPPENED. I CLEARLY DID NOTHING WRONG! I recorded the interaction of the rabid zionist because I know that beast officers lie all the time and I wanted it known that we had the recordings. (I had livestreamed it to my FB page).

Not one so called officer said ANYTHING implying that there were any noise complaints and not one asked one question about whether or not I organized this event and whether there was a permit. NOT ONE DAMNED WORD. In fact I was allowed to leave without any problem. Everyone was!

And then I get two summonses in the mail LYING ON ME AND CHARGING ME WITH ORGANIZING A SPECIAL EVENT WITHOUT A PERMIT AND WITH MAKING LOUD, CONTINUOUS NOISE WITH AN AMPLIFICATION DEVICE. NONE OF THIS IS TRUE!

On 8/15/25 In court I had two witnesses, one of them the organizer of the vigil, TESTIFYING THAT I’M NOT ONE OF THE ORGANIZERS.

MOREOVER they both testified that THEY DID NOT SEE OR HEAR ME ON THE BULLHORN. (The reason I had the mini bull horn in my hand in the video is that I was about to make an announcement, but was interrupted by the zionist confronting the crowd. The vigil was over & at the end of each one we are allowed to make announcements.)

I had an Uber receipt PROVING that I got to the vigil at 3:41 (the vigil was from 3-4:30). The Uber receipt is significant because two beast officers LIED IN COURT AND SAID THEY SAW ME AT THE BEGINNING OF THE RALLY USING THE BULL HORN. AND I COULD PROVE THAT I WASN’T EVEN THERE AT THE TIME!

BUT none of this was proof for rosenbluth and he just played the very profitable game of FRAMING THE BLACK PERSON, BECAUSE HE KNEW HE COULD MAKE ANYTHING STICK AND SHAKE BLACK PP DOWN FOR A WHOLE LOTTA DOLLARS.

Although SOMA for Palestine was identified as the collective that was organizing the vigil, he literally ruled that since no one could give the name of the person who was supposed to be checking on the permits, THAT ALL PARTICIPANTS AT THE VIGIL WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING SURE THAT THERE WAS A PERMIT.

He ruled that so what the police were off about the time that they saw me (they were off by 45 minutes!) that means nothing. So he basically SAID THE BEASTS DID SEE ME WHEN THEH SAID THEY DID!

HE BASICALLY DISCARDED THE TWO WITNESSES TESTIMONY WHO TESTIFIED THAT THEY DID NOT SEE OR HEAR ME USING A MAGAPHONE. The judge said that having the megaphone in my hand was proof that I used it!

AND EVEN THOUGH WE ALL TESTIFIED THAT THE BEAST OFFICERS DIDN’T ASK US ANYTHING UPON ARRIVAL ABOUT USING A MEGAPHONE OR PERMITS, which means they DIDN’T INVESTIGATE ANYTHING, the judge and prosecutor was alright about that.

SO BASICALLY I WAS FALSELY ACCUSED OF DOING SOMETHING THAT I DID NOT DO AND IN WHICH THE BEAST OFFICERS CONDUCTED NO INVESTIGATION! They just flatly accused me and the judge and prosecutor made it stick!

Lastly, I have been dragged into that house of ill repute that they call a court system, approximately 5 times over the last year AND EVERY SINGLE TIME THE MAJORITY OF THE DEFENDANTS ARE OVERWHELMINGLY BLACK PEOPLE! And they have a few Brown/Indigenous people in there as well. Yet South Orange/Maplewood are PREDOMINANTLY WHITE! But thank goodness South Orange/ Maplewood is a demoncRatic stronghold. Nothing like getting reamed by the party that supposedly “loves” us.
