Announcing FightBackBetter Partnership with Mo Hamz to Protect His Message from META Repression
NJ Palestinian American activist Moath Hamzeh is a prominent influencer- world renowned. He posts written messages and video messages on Instagram often multiple times per day and gets 1000s of responses and reactions from acound the globe. Recently on a trip to Mexico a woman saw him and recognized him – his message is that popular.
Like many in the pro-Palestine effort including this FightBackBetter editor Mo has experienced repressive measures from Instagram and there is a danger for anyone on Instagram engaged in pro-Palestine work that their account can be taken down – disconnecting them from acces to the history of their work on Instagram as well as short circuiting his message to 1000s of followers. FightBackBetter is just beginning to work on an effort to get a second set of at least some of Mo Hamz’s video collection ported into Youtube and will work to present the videos and organize them in a way that is useful to all of our efforts.
Doing so will put the videos before another audience but also will provide a back up plan should Insta interfere further with Mo Hamz’s messaging – by making his messages available here he can let his audience know and his message can still be available.
We have only begun this process and there are numerous videos. The following are a few that we have brought over thus far. We look forward to this partnership with Mo Hamz and it could provide a model for other video artists who want to protect their legacy of contribution to our struggles to be protected from the Instagram hammer of repression which is always closing in on our efforts.
