Republican Asw Fantasia Speaks Truth to Power – Denounces Democratic Party Power Grab and Changing Goalposts Midstream!
This Editor is neither Republican nor Democrat – much to the left of both. There might not be anything else I agree upon with Asw Fantasia but she is right on here today. Her expressed opposition is an echo of our statements on this matter here. It does not mean Asw Fantasia is a brilliant genius on this – she is stating common sense. The insidious way this bill moved – first passed in Assembly – a Christmas Eve miracle around Decemeber 18 – only about 11 days after its first press mention. Under the pretenses of trying to help confused voters here come the democrats with increassing ballot access barriers.
Asw Fantasia is on point. They are changing the rules in the middle of the game. My parents taught me a word for that – cheating.
While not stating that I agree with Asw Fantasia on any other matter – I am stating that I agree 100% with what she boldly stated today as the Democrats – afraid that close contests could be affected with more competition and trying to remove candidates opposing their intention to pass IHRA fraudulent elimination of protected free speech in NJ – make their authoritarian power grab in the Garden State of NJ.

I rise today in strong opposition to amendment including the date . . . to this blatant power grab because that’s exactly what this is. Right now while candidates across New Jersey are already circulating petitions for the upcoming primary election this body is moving the goalposts mid game making it harder for people to run for office this is not good governance. This is about about protecting incumbents and keeping Challengers off the ballot.
People are losing their faith in government because these are the types of antics we do. Midstream. This is blatantly unfair and we’re watching in real time this governing body pushing to push interested candidates out of our way. Who does this benefit?: Us in this room, the incumbents. It does not benefit the citizens of New Jersey. New Jersey does not belong to political insiders. It doesn’t belong to Career politicians. It belongs to the people. If you believe in free and fair elections you have to vote no to this disgraceful attempt to silence them. It’s abhorent to do this Midstream to aspiring candidates. I urge my colleagues please vote against this measure thank you Mr Speaker
