Trump’s ANTIFA Threat Would Make it Illegal to Not be Fascist!
Terrorism is a criminal act of using violence to spread fear or toward political, religious or ideological purpose. Under legal order – someone calling you a terrorist does not qualify as evidence. Someone signing a piece of paper calling you a terrorist is not evidence.
Trump has been telling media that he is prepared to declare ANTIFA a “domestic terrorist organization.”
If Trump signs an Executive Order declaring that “ANTIFA” is terrorist it does not prove that anyone did anything (aside from showing again that Trump is a fool).
If there was evidence of terrorism regarding “ANTIFA” the government would make a case – it has no such evidence so it uses name calling, false accusation and smear as repressive devices.
Everyone knows that ANTIFA is not an organization. It is more accurately a philosophy or ideology that fascism should be resisted. So in effect trump thinks he can sign an order to change what words and thoughts mean. Any order which declares that ANTIFA is a domestic terrorist organization will be meaningless in an actually lawful state, because there is no such organization.
But the point of any such order should it be signed is not to go after a non-existing organization but to mandate that we be fascist – to make being against fascism the equivalent of being a terrorist The order would be patently illegal and unconstituttional but that does not stop the Trump administration. Great harm including physical, possibly lethal, legal and every other kind of harm can be brought to us under such a fascist order.
While the order would be illegal – the true objective of the order is to create pretense for fascist repression including possible use of lethal military force against non-fascists. They will label every protest as antifa and show pctures of signs condemning fascism as proof – as repression is unleashed.
Literally Trump is labelling speech, thoughts, writings, gatherings and protests opposing fascism as terrorism. It is an attack not only on those in their minds who consider themselves ANTIFA – it is criminalizing the very belief that fascism is wrong!
Trump signed a similar order to the one he is now threatening in his first term saying that being critical of Israel equals antisemitism per the IHRA false definition of antisemitism. Now NJ Democrats are trying to make that the law in NJ. This editor wonders if NJ Democrats will also be in orgiastic unity with their Trump counterparts to try to codify anti-fascism as a crime in NJ – which basically is what the IHRA law they are pushing does – since Israel is fascist in every way you look at it!
Where are Democratic party voicess on this issue right now? Does anyone know of any elected Demcorat who has spoken against this threat to anti-fascist ideologiy?
