Dancing and Singing in Solidarity Against NSPM7, ICE, War and Repression Outside Newark FBI Complex

On Wednesday November 12 outside the FBI fortress in Newark NJ the newly formed No Complicity NJ committee held a “Publc Hearing in the Street” to call upon NJ state and local governments to proscribe NJ police participation in the repressive mechanisms of National Security Presidential Memorandum 7 (NSPM7).

Thanks to the Solidarity Singers the event was opened and ended with anti-fascist songs – singing truth to power.

This editor, with no complicity of Solidarity Singers, closed the event with the first verse of his (my) newly debuted song – now number 1 on the charts: NSPM7 Blues.

If NJ elected and appointed officials do not protect us from NSPM7 I personally vow to follow them around singing my song with new verses every time!

GOT TO FIGHT THE NSPM7 Blues!

This editor aplogizes to the fine musicians and especially Bennet Zurofsky, director of Solidarity Singers for including my song in progress as a fun but topical way to end our event. After the above splendid rendition of “We All Live in a Fascist USA” I imposed myself to the floor of our dwindling audience to close with my work in progress song – first verse only for now . . . NSPM 7 Blues. Band practice every Friday night – who is in!

NSPM7
Whats it gonna do to you
NSPM7
Happen while you took a snooze
You thought you had nothing to lose
Now you got the NSPM7 Blues

They said your anti Chrisian
When the last time your knee hit the pew
They said you anti American
Killing venezuelans just dont seem RIGHT to you
And they say your anti capitalist
Maybe you got no time to watch people being screwed!

Now they call the JTTF
Them cops wearin’ fancy vests
A million contraptions in all the hidden pockets
You had an illegal thought – and naoow they come to STOP IT!

The masks across their face
This nations in disgrace
Temp fed gangsters all over the town
Soon they’ll be shooting the people down!

We got to fight the NSPM7 blues
