MAGA Barkers Threaten Newsom, CA Dems Working to Hand Genocide Opponents Off to Trump Inspired Repression
Trump’s parade of patently illegal executive orders did not start in 2024. Donald Trump signed Executive Order 13899, which requires federal agencies to consider the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism, on December 11, 2019. This executive order directs agencies enforcing Title VI of the Civil Rights Act to consider the IHRA definition when investigating cases of antisemitic discrimination.
All of the IHRA repression occuring in the US and all of the IHRA legislation that has been passed and is being pursued at the state level is based upon this illegal executive order from 2019. In California as in NJ it is Democrats in the legislature that are in the lead role. In NJ the Governor Murphy has been silent but he is a personal friend with Trump and says that Trump is really a nice guy when he goes out on play dates with him. He is pro-Israel and has presided over increasing investments in Israeli bonds, an intelligence operation at Rutgers University, Rutgers Sister University relations with Tel Aviv University, a captive and dedicated to IDF asset and pro-Israel and genocide profit coordination by Trenton’s Israel Commission, which has an office in Tel Aviv. Both major party Gubernatorial candidates Sherrill D and Ciattareli R are united in support of implementing the Trumpian and Israel inspired IHRA unconstitutional narrative in NJ.
In California a similar IHRA bill is headed for the desk of Newsom, the CA Governor who has been clearly expressing presidential hopes and has been trolling the semi literate Trump in Trump’s style on social media. Newsom is being asked by educators across California to veto a bill that will bring pro-Israel fascism and total intolerance of opposition to genocide in California.
This Mondoweiss report has the details on the IHRA bill and the good actions of educators fighting this Democratic Party fascism – complicit with genocidal Israel and Trump-ian fascism. Newsom must veto the bill to show that he is against fascism and supports democratic free speech rights in California. If he signs or allows it to pass without action he is a Trump-ian enabler and supporter of fascism.
Newsom himself has just been threatened with arrest for saying Stephen Miller is a fascist. For the record – Miller is definitely a fascist as he constantly calls for ICE repression of our working people. His record is being captured and when the political climate changes as it will – a priority will be to hold accountable Trump, Miller, Noem, fascist ICE thugs and 1000s of others who are now participating in the violation of the civil and human rights of millions of us with a total escalation of repression against the entire nation in motion – including Trump’s calling for lethal military assault on Portland OR and Chicago IL as well as military occupation of Memphis.
Indeed for the record this FightBackBetter editor opposes Newsom’s arrest for his truthful statement that Miller is a fascist. To make it clear – I echo Newsom’s accusation so come for me too if you think you got it in you MAGA fascists. This editor also condemns all of the MAGA mindless barkers making this false accusation – they are creating a snitch culture among MAGA. They are attempting to create an atmosphere where people are even afraid to think disagreement with MAGA. If you read the NSPM7 illegal order by Trump, it basically equates to – if you are in disagreement with MAGA fascism on any topic you are hereby labeled terrorist! This editor says – in face of these threats – our resistance is our voice – tell the truth always and that means violating NSPM7 and getting ready to thwart attacks of this Trump-ian political police Gestapo wannabe federal force he ordered. That might soon include defending Newsom from such an attack.
Do I have sympathy for Newsom? That will depend upon if he vetoes or not the fascist IHRA measure his party put before him. If he signs or allows it to implement without signing, he deserves no sympathy. He is enabling Trump fascism in that regard as the majority of his party has already done in both chambers – their hips are joined to the Trump fascists on this bill – From California to NJ! I would still oppose his arrest for a true statement about Miller but I will not be sympathetic as he empowers future repression.
Meanwhile Newsom presides over an Israel serving Democratic Party that united with Trump supporters to elevate the level of fascist repression already being faced by the pro-Palestine movement. Students in UCLA were subjected to armed attacks assisted by police who stood by and watched – followed by riot cannon rubber bullets fired at close range at students- 5 students shot in the head. California has participated in massive represion of Pro-Palestine protesters and that will increase if Newsom allows this bill to pass.
So lets be real. Old comrades of mine are cherry picking fascism related to non-genocide issues and ignoring the attacks on pro-Palestine movement – including attacks on this editor. I argue with them in comments and there is always this sanctimonious judgment toward genocide opponents who would not vote for a sitting genocider – Harris. They ignore the total fail of their party – hiding Biden’s deterioration until he could hardly talk at a debate (6/27/24) – then arguing among themselves for 24 days as to whether he can manage until July 21 when he finally withdrew. Afterwards Democrats picked Harris 12 days later (8/5/2024). She was a bad candidate, bad at interviewing, bad at debating, literally refused to publish a platform, lied that she worked for cease fire 24 – 7, registered 7 M less voters that Republicans during Biden’s reign, was unknown and did not connect with voters. These and other internal reasons are why Harris failed. Yet this certain set of comrades who were for the most part not 100% engaged in genocide opposition – blame opponents of genocide who could not countenance voting for someone engaged in the carnage as Harris was as Vice President.
My counter argument to the accusation is that the fascism and the step toward war against the people of the US by the Trump administration is a product of the back turners who ignored the genocide or maybe had personal qualms but never made stopping it a priority in their lives. They actually aid the genocide with their smears against opponents who made the tactical choice not to vote for Harris – the genocider. You need to have decent candidates who are not genociders but since Democrats like Republicans are beholden to AIPAC there is no way to oppose genocide through the Democratic Party effectively. They attempt to deny that fact with their smears against genuine opponents of genocide.
If you are against fascism – you need to also be against the kind that Democrats are aiding Trump Republicans in instituting to come for the opponents of US- Israel genocide. You need to oppose the subordination of all US policy to the demands of Israel based upon AIPAC control of 80% of the legislature!
It is OK to call Miller, Trump, Noem, Rubio, Musk, Loomer and the whole cast of MAGA barkers fascists. That is what they are – we should definitely say it and prove it and then act upon it by defending our communities. But lets not be jaded that Newsom is some big hero for stating the obvious and lets not prioritize him over the many more deserving of support who are under attack.
If you oppose Newsom’s repression but have nothing to say about CA Dem Party and probably his support for our IHRA repression – you should check yourself!
