The federal government is moving fast. New WaPo report confirms they’ve already purchased warehouses in other states to make more concentration camps–but the movement to stop them is blazing ahead just as quickly to melt the ICE.
We’re following the blueprint of communities in Oklahoma and Virginia who successfully pushed ICE out.
This isn’t just about one warehouse. It’s about making sure Roxbury is the place where this expansion plan in NJ stops. We aren’t just protecting one town; we are organizing to ensure no community in our state is used for displacement and detention. We need your help to turn up the heat and melt the ICE.
HOW YOU CAN TAKE ACTION RIGHT NOW
We need the Roxbury Town Council to pass 2 ordinances: the “Emergency Brake” (a moratorium on applications for private prisons) and a zoning amendment for permanent ban on detention facilities in ALL zones.
Pressure the Owners & Brokers
We’ve seen victories when owners realize their community won’t tolerate a detention deal. We are targeting the warehouse owners (Delfan Industrial & Adler Development) and the broker (Jones Lang Lasalle).
Pack the Room
We need a consistent presence at every public meeting. Whether you are a student, a faith leader, or a worker—and whether you live in Roxbury or 50 miles away—your testimony matters.
