Editor’s Note: Carolyn Rush has consistently stalked out a position clearly on the side of protection of First Amendment Rights and she has reiterated her position. This editor appreciates also that candidate Rush has gently nudged the lead candidate Mikie Sherrill whose position unfortunately is in favor of the repressive legislation. Hopefull the message trickles up and causes rethinking at the top! Thank you Carol Rush – we urge consideration!
October 7th was unacceptable. Targeting Jewish people is unacceptable. All Hostages must be released.
In short, Antisemitism is wrong. Always.
But A3558 goes too far — using a definition that could punish ordinary people for protected speech.
We can stand firmly against hate without weakening the First Amendment.
That’s what real leadership means: protecting both safety and freedom.
I usually agree with Mikie Sherrill on big issues like affordability and fairness — but on this one, I have to speak up.
Mikie – please speak out against A3558!
Our Constitution deserves better.
